Donnafugata is a productive project in 1983 by entrepreneur initiative Giacomo Rallo and his wife Gabrielle, convinced of the need to give fresh momentum to a family tradition for 150 years
focuses on the production of quality wines.
An adventure that leaves from the historic cellars in Marsala family and the vineyards of Contessa Entellina heart of western Sicily,
to land even on the island of Pantelleria.
Marsala wine cellars, built in 1851 by the founder of the family, are developed around a large horizontal beam typical of
Mediterranean region. Example of industrial archeology alive today represent a production aimed for excellence. Here converge the products obtained in the
production units Countess Entellina Pantelleria and the processes of aging and bottling. The cellar processes involving the use of simple technologies and ever more respectful
of the intrinsic qualities of musts and wines. Given the importance of temperature control at every stage of production process, the structure consists of thermo-conditioned
environments and insulated for maximum energy savings in line with environmental policy. This logic also fits the new underground barrel opened in January 2008.
